Papayrus

June 23, 2011

This journal was from the Papyrus store.  They have changed since then.   I prefer the old version where leather journal was more of the focus.  They have changed to survive.

In other note, I predict that the slow blog moment will come back into fashion soon.  These days, it’s so easy to re-blog and post from a variety of sources.  I’m guilty of that.

Bee

A Sacrament

Become that high priest,
the bee. Drone your way
from one fragrant
temple to another, nosing
into each altar. Drink
what’s divine—
and while you’re there,
let some of the sacred
cling to your limbs.
Wherever you go
leave a small trail
of its golden crumbs.

In your wake
the world unfolds
its rapture, the fruit
of its blooming.
Rooms in your house
fill with that sweetness
your body both
makes and eats.

Secret Language is a set by Valerie Roybal. I like the neutral tones of black, white, and browns. The handwritings works well with the linear strips which are rigid and evenly space, much like writing.

for the love of pho

http://www.hungryghostfoodandtravel.com/new/2011/6/1/for-the-love-of-pho.html  This blog is wonderful example of slow blogging movement.  The photographs are well conceived.  It’s truly like a magazine.  Different writers and photographs and journalist contribute to it.  This one is about his experience with Pho.  I hope some day to return to Vietnam and sample some real good food!  Bon Apetite.
