The Last Thousand Years

March 28, 2010

Evan Hecox did a series of paintings about Vietnam call ‘The Last Thousand Years‘ which was inspired by a recent trip to Viet Nam.  The artist has traveled to other urban foreign places then works a series around it.  The paintings look really modern and flat.  A lot of them look like prints.  There is a great emphases on the color red and yellow.

Here’s a video / studio visit drop on Evan Hecox by Architip.

I was partially correct to say that it was like a print. It seems Evan starts out the background like a print then builds upon it with steel nib pens, brushes. The video should the process he used to make laptop case for a company call Incase. Incase have commission artist to do these wonderful sleeves. I want one.
