Gallery 114

August 5, 2006 Saturday

An elderly black couple came into the gallery in the afternoon. He walks with a tri-prong cane. She is a heavy set woman. She complained about pain and took a seat on the bench. She walked to the Hans Hickerson black and white photograph of the residents of Portland, Oregon during the eighties. She said she needed help. Her husband just froze on the spot. I came over and held his arm. We both struggle to walk him to the bench in the center of the gallery. I should have brought over the folding chair. Later they both recovered and walk out of the gallery.
